MEET BRE
Bre is a passionate movement teacher who enjoys helping others through movement. With years of study in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, she transforms the science of movement into practical tools to help clients reduce pain, recover from injuries, and build strength. Bre thrives working with clients who are curious, motivated, and especially those managing chronic pain or navigating post injury rehabilitation.
Her career as a movement teacher began after she survived a mountaineering accident in the Sangre de Cristos of Southern Colorado in 2010. At just 25 years old, the experience of enduring multiple injuries, being told she’d always have chronic pain, and undergoing a long rehabilitation process gave Bre the empathy and insight to connect with clients facing similar challenges.
Working with her physical therapist and several exceptional movement teachers, Bre found that Pilates and the GYROTONIC® Method were key to her recovery. She credits both methods for helping her regain full mobility and strength without pain. Although her accident brought her to this work, it is her clients that keep her inspired to teach.
Beyond her personal experience, Bre has a solid academic foundation to support her work as a movement teacher/therapist. She earned her MSc Health & Exercise Science from Colorado State University and her PhD in Health & Kinesiology with an emphasis on Cognitive & Motor Neuroscience from the University of Utah. She is also a Comprehensive Certified Pilates Teacher through Balanced Body, a Certified Level 1 & 2 GYROTONIC® Instructor including all accessory equipment (the Archway, GYROTONER®, Jumping-Stretching Board, and Leg Extension Unit), and Certified GYROKINESIS® teacher.
Bre recently relocated to Steamboat Springs after closing her movement studio, Movement Design Lab, which she owned and operated for 11 years in Salt Lake City, Utah. While she loved her time in Utah, she's thrilled to be back in Colorado and a part of the Steamboat community.
Forever grateful to those who have supported her healing and teaching journey, her teaching is infused with a deep sense of patience, curiosity, and joy.
