Meet Victoria
At 16 years old, it was a lucky encounter that first brought Victoria into the world of the GYROTONIC® Method. Victoria was a student at the ballet academy in Berlin, Germany when she happened to meet a professional dancer during an open audition whom was also a GYROTONIC® Trainer. At the time, Victoria was experiencing constant back pain amongst other physical challenges and the GYROTONIC® Trainer offered to teach her a few lessons. It was this work with the GYROTONIC® Method that helped Victoria heal from these injuries.
Since then, Victoria has been practicing the GYROTONIC® Method and loves how she always walks out of a class feeling lighter and happier than when she walked in. Victoria also appreciates that the GYROTONIC® Method is mentally challenging; while it may not make you sweat like a gym workout, it requires high levels of mindfulness to execute the movements correctly. She’s found it’s made her a more conscious dancer and it’s taught her how to truly take care of herself both mentally and physically.
Professionally, Victoria is a soloist with Ballet West and in addition to being a GYROTONIC® Method Apprentice, Victoria earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2015 from the State Ballet School of Berlin and she completed her Master’s of Science in Exercise Science in 2022 from Concordia University.
As a teacher, she is kind, empathetic, and genuinely tries to understand every client she works with. With her dance background, she also has a fabulous eye for watching movement and providing feedback. While Victoria is just at the beginning of her teaching career as a GYROTONIC® Apprentice, we know Victoria has the makings of becoming a remarkable movement teacher and are thrilled to have her as our newest member of the Movement Design Lab team.
